Book I'm Reading: "Notes on Being a Man" by Scott Galloway
Scott Galloway addresses a question that's gotten harder to answer clearly: what does it mean to be a good man today? Boys are falling behind girls academically across Western democracies, and young men are increasingly isolated. Galloway uses his own life as the raw material, from his parents' divorce to building companies to raising two sons, and works through what healthy masculinity actually looks like in practice.
The book frames manhood around three obligations: protect, provide, and procreate. But Galloway pushes past the surface-level version of those ideas into territory that matters more. Being a good father starts with treating your kids' mother well.
Action is the antidote to anxiety. Pursue what you're naturally good at, not what sounds impressive. Step outside your comfort zone. Recognize your advantages and create opportunities for others. Kindness is the foundation of every relationship that lasts. It reads like an honest, sometimes uncomfortable operator's manual for men who want to do better.
